Conservation Coordinator
International Game Fish Association (IGFA)

IGFA is a recreational fishing organization that focuses on game fish conservation and education and is seeking a dynamic individual to help coordinate its conservation initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities

·        This position will be heavily involved in a project developing an innovative smart phone application to collect recreational catch data.  Project duties include:

o   Outreach to scientific, management and angling sectors

o   Coordination between IGFA and project subcontractors

o   Drafting project documents

o   Meeting development

o   IGFA liaison for project participants

o   Budget tracking and reporting

o   Data QA/QC

·        Assist the Conservation Director in IGFA fisheries conservation initiatives including: fisheries analysis, development of position statements, document review, and correspondence

·        Development of conservation related materials for IGFA publications and website

Qualifications

·        B.S. or M.S. in biology, fisheries or marine policy

·        Knowledge and familiarity with the recreational fishing community

·        Well-developed quantitative, written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

·        Ability to take initiative/work independently

·        Proficiency with MS Office and database management.

·        Strong interest in IGFA mission and knowledge of fishing and aquatic environments preferred.

Salary: $30,000 - $35,000/year with competitive benefits package

Development Manager

International Game Fish Association (IGFA)

International conservation organization focusing on game fish conservation and education is seeking a dynamic individual for their fundraising programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The position will manage the development department including: project supervision, employee performance reviews, professional development, and oversight of strategy implementation.
  • Oversee the IGFA Direct Mail Campaign including: fundraising appeals, membership acquisition, membership step-up campaigns and email campaigns.
  • Oversee IGFA events including: IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame Induction, International Auction, World Record Achievement Awards, Expeditions, auctions and other IGFA events as assigned.
  • Oversee brand management and marketing materials for the IGFA.
  • Assist in developing action plans for prospects in annual giving and endowment gifts.
  • Develop and implement the IGFA grant program.
  • Assist DOD in the development and implementation of the annual operation plan and budget for the department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, marketing or related field.
  • Experience in managing projects and staff.
  • Minimum of three years in fundraising with nonprofit organizations.
  • Familiarity with direct marketing campaigns.  
  • Well developed quantitative, written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to take initiative/work independently
  • Proficiency with MS Office and database management (experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar preferred).
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends; domestic travel required.
  • Strong interest in IGFA mission and knowledge of fishing and aquatic environments preferred.
