Between the Sabalo River and Pacific Ocean lies one of Costa Rica’s top fishing destinations: the Zancudo Lodge. With more than 70 records set for sailfish, roosterfish, mahi and barracuda, Zancudo’s fully-equipped fleet and passionate and experienced captains make for the perfect trip for adventurous anglers.
This new IGFA Expedition trip will explore the waters of Golfito, Costa Rica for four days of action-packed fishing. Anglers will fish two per boat and have options each day of inshore and offshore targets and fly or conventional gear. But pack your travel gear lightly or leave it at home; the Zancudo Lodge boasts an outfitting room fully stocked with top-of-the-line tackle and a fleet of 28 foot center consoles custom built for fishing.
In the hours off the water, guests will be treated to the lush surroundings and picturesque beachfront of Playa Zancudo. The Lodge sits diagonally opposed to the famous Matapalo Rock at the mouth of Golfito Dulce, and tropical fruits and foliage throughout the property make it both wild and tranquil. Accommodations have been newly renovated with spacious rooms, fine linens, wi-fi, international phone service, and a beachfront pool and hot tub. The service, food and bar are consistently praised by reviews on Trip Advisor, where the Lodge has received a 4.5 star rating.
Following a relaxing and adventure-filled week on the water, the trip will close with a dinner and talk with IGFA President Rob Kramer. As a global leader on recreational angling and conservation, Kramer will share some of the specific issues facing Costa Rica and the international sportfishing community.
IGFA Expedition: Costa Rica includes all in-country transfers, charter boats, tackle, meals, drinks and gratuities. Anglers need only bring their stamina and a passport to enjoy this great week of sport fishing in one of the most wild and abundant places on earth.
