2008 IGFA Inshore World Championship Tournament Update #2

Dear Championship Angler,

It is indeed our pleasure to have your participation in the 2008 IGFA Inshore World Championship, June 29 – July 2, 2008. We are finalizing preparations and it should once again be a truly memorable experience.

Please find attached the rules and schedule for this year's championship. You will be notified of any last minute changes.     Please make every effort; both anglers and guides, to register and pick up your angler bags before Sunday’s guide draw and kickoff, at the Islander Resort’s Bonefish Bay Meeting Room from 2:00 p.m – 5:30 p.m. as name badges will be required at all events.

As a reminder, if we have not received your total registration fee of $2,300 for the IGFA Inshore World Championship Tournament, please send it to us by May 15, fees refundable up to May 1.  If you have not returned your registration form, please fax it to me as soon as possible (954) 924-4299. Please register non-fishing guests before the championship so I can have their name badge ready.  The cost for the entire package is $150 and includes all social events, individual passes are $50.  For last minute guests, passes will be available throughout registration and the tournament.

If you have not already made your hotel reservations, there are still rooms left at the Islander Resort. Hotel expense and meals, other than those at the social events are the responsibility of the angler. The Islander Resort offers all IGFA Inshore World Championship Tournament guests special room rates from June 23 through July 8, 2008.

Reservations can be made as early as possible for choice room selections. You can make reservations directly through their website: www.islanderfloridakeys.com.  At the top middle left of the home page you will see a Group Reservations icon.  Once you click on that, the next page will ask for an attendee’s pass code.  The pass code is:  igfa608.  If you prefer not to use the online reservation system, please contact The Islander Resort anytime Monday through Friday and ask for Reservations at 1-800-753-6002. Please identify yourself as IGFA World Championship Tournament guests.

Good tackle will be available for the angler however anglers are encouraged to bring their own rods and reels.  If you need any tackle advice, give us a call.

As a reminder and for your convenience, box lunches and continental breakfast are included in the registration fee and will be available dockside each morning before fishing.

P.S.   Please bring a digital camera to the championship if possible.  Last year we were able to download some great on-the-water shots of fish catches/releases.  Regular film cameras will do also, CD’s can be made with photo prints.  We used the better photos on our website and also were able to send some to hometown editors of your local papers.
