There are several rigs you can use to present your baits. The most basic rig includes a leader tied to the main line with a weight attached about 18 to 24 inches from the hook. Circle hooks are absolutely ideal for these applications. Bait can include any live or dead fish, shrimp, or squid.

Chicken rigs are great for catching smaller to even large fish. Using circle hooks will minimize gut hooked fish and increase the chances of lip hooking those toothy critters.

When using large live baits, a large cigar weight or equivalent weight with a 10-20 foot leader and circle hook rig is a simple set-up to use.
