Date set for 26th Annual IGFA Auction & Banquet in 2010

by International Game Fish Association 2. November 2009 18:01

IGFA’s premier fundraiser, the 26th Annual International Auction & Banquet is scheduled for Friday, January 29, 2010 at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida. This year’s “featured artist” is renowned Australian bronze sculptor, Bodo Muche. Bodo’s residence and studios in Tanzania and Botswana over seventeen years provided a wealth of experience in all elements of sculpture, while also exploring the wilderness and observing Africa's magnificent wildlife. During a time when Bodo lived in Africa, the sight of a free-jumping sailfish in the pristine waters of the Seychelle Islands inspired Bodo to create his first sculpture of gamefish.  Bodo’s studies included zoological science, anatomy, art history and design, as well as all phases of sculpture and taxidermy.  His magnificent sculptures are world-renowned and coveted by tournament anglers, collectors including the IGFA Offshore World Championship winners.

Donations are already arriving, including the special bronze sculpture from this year’s featured artist, world-renowned Australian sculptor, Bodo Muche.  There are also trips to Los Sueños, Tropic Star Lodge, the Bahamas, cruises, artwork and more.  The auction will be featured on the IGFA website www.igfa.org beginning the first week of November. Tickets to the banquet are $200 per person or you may purchase a Corporate Table for 10 persons for $5000 that includes preferred table placement, a full-page ad in the auction program, table signage and table
