Captain Drew Kettlehut, a Fort Lauderdale native, has been fishing the waters around South Florida since he was 5 years old. In 1997, Capt. Drew directed his local knowledge and passion for the ocean towards a new type of fishing-swordfishing. In 2001, Drew's commitment to swordfishing led him to create and organize a series of swordfish tournaments around South Florida presented by Full Moon Adventures. To date, the HydroGlow Swordfish Series is the largest swordfish tournament in the world. To help promote the sport, Capt. Drew helped organize the Southeast Swordfish Club in 2003 and continues to serve as a true ambassador to other anglers around the area. In November of 2006, Capt. Drew landed a 530 lb swordfish on 80# line in 2 hours and 45 minutes-one of the largest rod and reel caught swordfish ever in Florida . Capt. Drew's latest adventures have led him into the realm of daytime swordfishing where he continues to hone his abilities as a renowned angler. Besides his impressive list of accomplishments on the water, he has become a proud new father of a beautiful baby girl, Jessica Renee, whom he plans on sharing his passion of the sport with by teaching her how to swordfish. |
