Captain Shawn Wilder Fairbanks

Captain Shawn Wilder Fairbanks is the son of the late Captain J.R Fairbanks, a renowned back country fisherman.  A familiar face around the flats, Captain Fairbanks has over 15 years of experience shallow water fishing in South Florida. From the intracoastal waters of Fort Lauderdale and Miami to the pristine waters of the Everglades and Ten Thousand Islands, Shawn has caught fish all over the state. He is an expert at targeting all different species of fish but specializes in live baiting and fly fishing for snook, redfish, tarpon, trout, permit and cobia. Shawn’s father raised him fishing and catching bluegill in diapers to large tarpon on light tackle, to now guiding more fishermen towards catching their dream. Capt. Fairbanks has been running his own charter business for over 3 years while successfully maintaining a solid customer base and looks forward to sharing the secrets of success with the IGFA School of Sportfishing customers.
