FOR
VERY SERIOUS SPORT
FISHERMEN.
The IGFA School
of Sport Fishing was founded by the IGFA and Saltwater Professional Consulting.
The IGFA School of Sportfishing to start its 8th session:
The very popular IGFA School of Sportfishing, which launched in conjunction with Saltwater Professional Consulting in October of 2006, will resume its eighth session on Tuesday, August 26th. Some classes previously offered will be back by popular demand as well as two new classes.
"As always, these classes are based solely on participant feedback. The Four Fundamentals Every Sportfisherman Should Know class was a big hit and will be a very hands-on and intense class that will make everyone in attendance a better angler", said the IGFA's David Matagiese. “We also brought back a participant favorite, ‘Bottom Fishing Wrecks and Reefs ’, and have added a fresh water class for the bass anglers that will teach ways to target largemouth and peacock bass.”
With a class size limit of 24 anglers the School of Sportfishing offers a unique experience for anglers who want to obtain the skills, information and techniques necessary to maximize their overall success on the water.
"With the technological advances of today’s marine electronics, there has been a high demand for a class that provides detailed instruction for utilizing the electronic equipment on your boat. Our ‘Understanding Your Onboard Electronics’ class will provide that information in an easy to understand format,” said Captain Tony DiGiulian of Saltwater Professional Consulting. "We're also offering a course specifically designed for the snook angler called ‘Fishing for Trophy Snook’ that will show you a whole new world of targeting monster fish."
The classes, all scheduled on Tuesday nights from 7 - 10 p.m., are taught at the International Fishing Hall of Fame. Each course features printed curriculum on the session, equipment and hands-on instruction where anglers have a chance to interact and learn from fisherman who they would usually only see on television or read about in fishing magazines. Each time you sign up for a class, your name will be entered into a drawing that will be held at the end of March. Three prize packages will be given away thanks to Boone Lures, Costa Del Mar sunglasses and Momoi Monofilament.
Cost is $150 for nonmembers and $100 for members. The fee covers the cost of the training class, course materials, and any tackle handed out relevant to each topic.
