Umbrella Rigs and Snatch Hooks - NOT IGFA Legal

Umbrella Rigs and Snatch Hooks -
Not IGFA Legal:

Published January 2008 by IGFA in the 2008 World Record Game Fishes book

Two of the most common fishing styles for striped bass include fishing with umbrella rigs and fishing live menhaden on snatch hooks. Beware, both of these types of fishing are not compliant with IGFA rules and will disqualify any record size fish caught via these methods.

Umbrella rigs are basically spreader bars, which are not compliant because they hamper the fighting capability of the fish during the fight. Snatch hooks are nothing more than modified treble hooks, and are not allowed with natural bait according to IGFA rules.
