Volunteer Opportunities

GIVE BACK TO THE FISH

  • Volunteers are essential to the success of the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame.

  • Whether you are interested in fishing, boating, the environment, or just giving back to your community, your ideas and time can assist the IGFA.

  •  Our volunteers share their knowledge and enthusiasm of the aquatic world with visitors and other volunteers. The shared experience expands your horizons.

  • Interested in giving more than your time? Check out the Dollars for Doers Grant Program "A corporate employee giving program in which a company provides grants to nonprofits where employees and retirees volunteer on a regular basis". Your company may qualify! For a list of participating companies click here.

VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION/TRAINING

Attending an orientation/training session is an important first step to becoming an effective IGFA volunteer. Every new volunteer MUST attend an orientation before volunteering. Here you will learn a bit about the history of the IGFA and the museum, the benefits of volunteering with us and the wide range of volunteer positions available.

We apologize for any inconvenience, but we are no longer taking in new volunteer applications at this time.

The next Orientation will be held on TBD

Additional documentation needed:
Copy of driver's license, state ID, or student ID AND copy of Social Security card.
There is a non-refundable $10 registration and application fee due to the Volunteer Coordinator at the time of the orientation. In exchange, you will be provided with your first IGFA logo t-shirt, which is required as part of the dress code.
Please bring these with you to the orientation.

Minimum age for volunteering is 15 years old. If service hours are court ordered, please contact the maintenance department at 954-924-4341.
